Your diamond painting kit has just arrived. Are you eager to start right away? Wait, what? Your diamond painting is tightly rolled, is not lying flat, and has many creases and wrinkles.
Yes, every diamond painter has to face these things. Fortunately, your diamond painting is not ruined by these annoying creases. Although you may need to flatten the canvas, the wrinkles often fade after applying the diamonds on top and will not affect the final result. It will be bright and vibrant and will show no imperfections.
Flatten Your Canvas And Remove The Creases
If you are one of those who want their diamond painting canvas to be in perfect condition, you can easily eliminate the creases and flatten it. First, if your canvas is not lying flat and does not return to its rolled state, you will need to flatten it; only then can you smooth it out.
We have compiled some tips and methods to safely and successfully remove wrinkles from the canvas.
1. Peel And Reapply The Protective Plastic

One of the quickest methods to deploy the canvas is to peel off the protective layer from one corner and reapply it by applying hand pressure. You will need to repeat this procedure by lifting the protective layer and re-sticking on all remaining sides. You will see the canvas flattening so quickly.
Never try to remove the entire protective sheet at once, as you will not be able to place it back perfectly. Remove and apply the protective sheet in small sections and continue moving from one corner of the diamond painting canvas to the other corner. The biggest advantage is that not only will the canvas flatten, but some wrinkles will also diminish.
2. Roll Your Diamond Painting Canvas The Other Way

This method seems quite simple, but it is undoubtedly very effective for easily flattening the diamond painting canvas. You just need to take your diamond painting canvas, lay it on a flat surface, unroll it, and then roll it back in the opposite direction. Repeat this process several times and you will see your canvas flattening. Also try rolling and unrolling the canvas inside out. First keep the printed side facing out, then switch to the blank side facing out. Keep unrolling and rolling until your canvas is flat.
3. Press With A Flat And Heavy Object

Place it on a flat surface. You can either stick it at the four corners or leave it as is. Place flat and heavy objects like books or flat heavy boxes on it. Some diamond painting artisans like to keep it under their mattress for several days before starting this wildly addictive artwork. A mattress works best if your canvas is large.
4. Using The Iron
Lay the canvas on the iron support, face down. Place a thick towel on the back of the canvas. Use a low iron to remove wrinkles. Some people like to spray the canvas with water. If you feel the need, do not spray directly on the canvas; instead, you can spray water on the towel and iron the canvas.
Do not use a high-temperature iron as it would melt the glue or adhesive film, ruin the entire canvas. If necessary, gradually increase the heat setting and continue to check the canvas while ironing.
Note: do not use an iron after applying diamonds to the canvas. The heat will melt the diamond resins.
